TAMADIA DANCE COMPANY

Created in 2006, Tamadia Dance Company brings my work as a dancer/choreographer together with the works of Aminata (Dancer / Actress), Moussa SANOU (Musician)
and Domba SANOU (Musician), as well as some collaborating dancers, storytellers and musicians. The first dance company in Burkina Faso to perform a dance inspired by and mixing with Capoeira, but also other dances, notably Bobo traditional steps, Mandingo folk and contemporary dance, it undoubtedly presents itself as one of the most dynamic companies among the country’s emerging dance companies.

It also favors artistic exchanges and collaborations with companies from all over the world, in par- ticular Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Morocco, South Korea, India, USA and France.
Cooperation, research, innovation, support for professionals and the public, development of dis- semination sites are the foundations of the missions it carries out and the actions it develops. Training, awareness of looks, educational research, artistic creation, and dissemination of artistic work are all areas of intervention for the team of the association which puts its expertise at the service of all and promotes emergence of demanding projects.

Tamadia Company is serious and well structured, works intelligently and knows how to communi- cate well, and its proposals are always interesting, by bringing contemporary dance (discipline still quite confidential in Burkina Faso) to unusual spaces: military camp, prison, hospital, markets ... What really makes it possible to reach new audiences.
