IN-OUT DANCE FESTIVAL
In-Out Dance Festival is an international dance festival in public spaces of Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso. My objec- tive in creating this festival is to promote regional develop- ment of Burkina by the valorization of cultural, social, and economic potential, through international and local cultural exchange. A dance festival in public spaces of Bobo-Diou- lasso, IN-OUT DANCE FESTIVAL is a very beautiful project, supported locally by the Embassy of USA, French Institute and local population from its beginnings. The village of the festival, in the heart of a district, has brought for a few years a rather incredible dynamic with the inhabitants of all ages (volunteers engaged for the scenography, the security, the logistics, the meals).
It is a meaningful and ambitious project, with the invitation of foreign companies for each edition which really creates links, in particular via the training component of young local dancers by the invited companies.
Created in 2014 In-Out Dance Festival has recorded more than 500,000 spectators and more than 100 dancers trained permanently. Part of an international network of 36 dance festivals, today In-Out Dance Festival is positioned as one of the best dance encounters on the African continent.
My objectives creating this festival are to:
- Develop cultural and social links among artists in general and specifically dancers and choreographers of Burkina and those from the world.
- Create a cultural space for artists and artisans, for those who represent and value their culture, in order to manifest diversity.
- Open to the international market for cultural productions.
- Democratize dance and make it accessible to everyone.
- Develop strong professional capacities and abilities for those involved in the organization of the fes- tival.
- Create launch opportunities for young artists and talented artisans.
- Value the culture of tourism and its economic impact.
- Promote the good understanding of cultures through mutually beneficial collaboration and effective - Dynamic partnerships.
- Facilitate democratic and social issue debates and exchanges for youths.
